Cumberland

  • Blair Park

    Just north of Cumberland on US 119

    The park consists of swings, sandbox, riding toys, shelter building, picnic table, water fountain, concession building. Portable toilets are available.

  • Kingdom Come State Park

    Just north of Cumberland off US 119

    The park is the highest elevation in the Kentucky Stat Park system. There are great camping spaces, RV or tent, and many great hiking or walking trails. Shelters with picnic tables, grills and restrooms. Children;s playground equipment in several areas. Lake for fishing or boat rides, gift shop and more.

  • Fishing Deck

    Just south of the red light on US 119 in Cumberland

    Located at the headwaters of the Cumberland River, a great location for a family picnic or just to sit and watch the fish and river water. This park was organized and financed by the Cumberland Fishing Club and Cumberland Tourism.

  • Bob Frazier Multipurpose Park

    Near the stop light on US 119 in Cumberland

    Located near the old Cumberland High School, the park has a basketball court, skatepark, swings, slide, and an area to sit and watch the children play. There are no restroom facilities.

  • Girls Softball Park

    Near the stop light on US 199 in Cumberland, near the old Cumberland High School

    A field where students practice for their games. This park has had improvements and hopefully will have a restroom facility by spring 2024.

  • Boys Softball Park

    Located at Southeast Kentucky Technical and Community College in Cumberland. There are also tennis courts and a nature walking trail on the College property.

  • Art Park on Main Street

    Main Street, Cumberland

    The park displays a ceramic mailbox that represents the early coal miners who often came to the Keleman restaurant located in this lot, so Mrs. Keleman could write letters to the old country and send money home to their families. This mailbox represents many coal miners and their families. No restroom facility.

  • Square on Main

    Corner of Main Street and West Main, Cumberland

    Features a gazebo, lights, picnic tables, benches, and electricity. This park was built and maintained by the Cumberland Tourism with financial assistance from R. E. Box Frazier Foundation and property cleanup from the City of Cumberland employees. The park is used on holidays and special occasions for music, corn toss games, and pop up vendor events.

  • Felicia's Garden

    Felicia's Garden is located on the property that once belonged to Dr. D. M. Fields and his family. He operated a doctor's office there for many years. After the building burned to the ground, a park was developed in honor of Dr. & Mrs. Fields daughter, Felicia Fields.

  • Big Chair Photo Opp

    Near the Square on Main in Cumberland

    A floral fence and big chair offers visitors and local residents an opportunity for a fun photo. This park was organized by Cumberland Tourism and financed by Frazier Foundation.

  • The Eastern Kentucky Veterans Memorial and Walking Trail

    On US 119 north of Cumberland

    There are 72 names of men and women who have served our great America to keep us safe and secure. May we never forget that being safe is not free. This project is a product of many various grants and donations throughout a 12 year period, including Robert E. Frazier Charitable Foundation, local families, Harlan County Fiscal Court, and other grants.

  • Trail Town

    A walking/ biking trail that runs from Cumberland to Benham to Lynch. There are various spaces to enter and exit the trail from. The trail is not complete due to lack of land.

  • Frazier's Happy Tails Dog Park

    A fenced park with both a side for small and large dogs. The park has banners, water faucets, and garbage containers. The Frazier's Happy Tails Dog Park was financed by Tourism and the Robert E. "Bob" Frazier Foundation.

Benham

  • Benham Coal Miners Memorial Park

    Behind the Kentucky Coal Museum

    It houses a gazebo, playground equipment, a swing set, a large shelter with picnic tables and restrooms, a train caboose with a mural, a fishpond, a coal miners memorial wall, and is conveniently located on the walking trail.

  • Benham Circle Park

    Under the hill from Benham School House Inn

    It houses a tennis and pickleball court, as well as a gazebo and large flag made of stones.

  • Benham Veterans Memorial

    In Benham's Circle Park

    It is a memorial of Benham residents from the Patton family.

  • Walter Dick and John Bond Park

    At the entrance to Walnut Street

    This park has basketball courts, a baseball sized field, and playground equipment.

  • Tri-City Little League Fields

    Main Street, Benham, KY, Facebook

    A large baseball/softball park. There are teams ranging from Tee-Ball, Minor-League, Major-League Baseball, and Softball. This is one of our region's greatest baseball parks. There are 2 full sized fields, a tee-ball field, batting cages, 4 dugouts, bathroom facility and concessions.

  • Benham Fishing Dock

    Main Street, Benham

    Located on the Trail Towns walking trail in front of the old gas station in Benham. This fishing dock has tables and benches.

  • Benham Community Park

    Up the road from Tri-City Little League Field. This park has a small shelter, picnic tables, swing set, and playground equipment.

  • Sadie Long Park

    Near the end of Bickerstaff Drive in Benham

    This park consists of a large picnic shelter with tables and chairs, a giant wooden boat for children to play in, as well as a large International Harvester sign and parking lot.

  • Benham Bickerstaff Park

    At the very end of Benham

    The park is fenced in and has a small shelter with tables, as well as a playground and parking.

Lynch

  • Lynch Walk of Legends

    Behind the Lynch Campground

    A walking trail that extends all the way to Gap Branch. Dedicated to and commemorates the people who have greatly affected Lynch, including doctors, teachers, housewives, and many others.

  • Portal 31 Park

    Main Street in Lynch

    Home to the best underground mining tour in the country. There are bleachers and old mining equipment, as well as old mine buildings, surrounded by plaques that state the history and objectives of coal mining.

  • "Coach E" Jerry Edwards Park

    Just off West Main Street when you enter Lynch

    The park has basketball courts, baseball field, a shelter with tables, and playground equipment—all dedicated to Coach Jerry Edwards in honor of his love for children, education, and sports.

  • Lynch Little League Practice field

    At the back side of Coach Edwards Park

    This field is used for practices when the little league field is occupied.

  • Lynch L & N Depot Park

    Just off Main Street in Lynch between the depot and Lamphouse coffee shop

    There is a large parking space, a train engine, and caboose. The depot is home to an L & N exhibit, Lynch Bulldog room, a room dedicated to the Lynch High school, and a fire pit.

  • East Main Children's Park

    Next to the old middle school is a fenced-in park with children's playground equipment and a swing set.

  • Lynch Garden Club Park

    Behind the gas station in Lynch

    This park is fenced in. It has swings, playground equipment, and benches.

  • Lynch Country Club

    At the base of KY's highest point, Black Mountain

    Lynch Country Club has a swimming pool and a 7-hole golf course, as well as a club building and original caretaker house.
